James Shupe

James T. “Jim” Shupe, 76, of Graysville passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family.

A native of Ronceverte, West Virginia, he lived the majority of his life in the Trenton, Georgia and Chattanooga areas before moving into his dream home in Sequatchie County. He served as a manufacturers representative in heating, ventilation and air conditioning and was former owner of Shupe, Carboni and Associates for many years. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was of the Methodist faith.

His parents, Iles and Electra Smith Shupe; brothers, Iles and William Shupe; sister, Neva Wright and niece, Marianne Barber, preceded him in death.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 53 years, Kathy George Shupe. Jim and Kathy renewed their marriage vows in 2012 in West Virginia. To this union, they were blessed with two daughters, Jennifer (Brent) Brumlow of Chattanooga and Cindy (Bruce) Limbach of Verona, Illinois; grandchildren, Karen, Lyndie and Joseph Carboni, Raney Brumlow, Curtis and Amanda Limbach; sister, Eva Shupe Smith; and nephews, Ed Smith and Terry Woods. 

Funeral services were held Thursday, January 10 in the South Crest Chapel with Chaplain Jack Nichols and Rev. Jim Hale officiating. Burial was in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
