Jamie Turner II

James Franklin “Jamie” Turner II of Aurora, Colorado died November 3, 2012, just a day away from his 42nd birthday, doing something he loved, riding his motorcycle.

A witty, fun-loving and able jazz guitarist and was adored and will be missed by his loving family. 

A native of Signal Mountain, he played football and was a 1989 graduate of Sequatchie County High School. He attended both Chattanooga State and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernest and Mildred Turner and Frazier and Lena Andrews.

Survivors include his wife, Michelle; parents, Franklin and Millie Turner of Signal Mountain; sisters and brothers-in-law, Celena and Jesse Lockhart of Signal Mountain and Melissa and Jason Mitchell of Red Bank; nieces, Jessica and Shelby Lockhart of Signal Mountain; and best friend, Steve Clevenger of Dunlap.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, November 17 at Mount Carmel Baptist Church on U.S. 127 on Signal Mountain near the Hamilton and Sequatchie county line.

His family invites the sharing of happy, smiling memories of Jamie during the service, with a visitation at the church at 9:00 a.m. to view pictures. After the service, Jamie’s family and closest friends will place his ashes at the family farm.

The Turners will also have a memory box, where friends and family may place their last words to Jamie. The box will be sealed and buried with him at the farm.

In lieu of flowers, donations or gift cards are welcomed and may be made for Jamie’s wife in Franklin Turner’s name at any Citizens Tri-County Bank.
