Ruth Elizabeth McKinney Willson
Ruth Elizabeth McKinney Willson, a beautiful lady, went to her heavenly home on October 22, 2012. She died peacefully at the home of her son in Dunlap.
Born on September 3, 1918 in Virgil, New York, she retired from the Cortland City School District, where she worked as a clerk/typist. She was also a realtor, homemaker, seamstress and devoted mother, loved to read and was a faithful servant of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She spent the last 13 years of her life living with her son, James and his wife, Carolyn. They cared for and nurtured her and were blessed to have spent those years with her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ira Willson; her parents, Robert McKinney and Eva Baker McKinney and her son-in-law, Jerry Boughton.
She is survived by her sister, Clara M. Edwards of Dunlap; her children, Elizabeth A. Boughton of Marathon, New York; her son, James Robert (Carolyn) Willson; grandsons, Jimmy Boughton of McGraw, New York and David Willson of Ocala, Florida; granddaughter, Jeri-Ann Bush of Dryden, New York and step-grandson, Jeffrey Fontenot of Dunlap; seven great-grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and four step great-great-grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be held at Virgil Cemetery in Virgil, New York at a later date.
