Peggy Jean Hooper
Peggy Jean Hooper, 78, of Whitwell died peacefully at her home on Thursday morning, October 18, 2012.
She was the wife of the late Harry Joe Hooper, who died on May 20. She always said she could not live without him, so now they are back together. She was a member of Whitwell Church of Christ and will be remembered for her wonderful singing voice and warm personality. She was a true coalminer’s daughter of the late Tillman and Annie Bone.
She was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Joan Bone.
Survivors include her three sons, Gary (Deb) Hooper of Whitwell, DuWane (Myra) Hooper of Birmingham and Harry Joe (Traci) Hooper II of Nashville; her sister, Hatha Rae (Rod) McDonald of Winder, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Derek Hooper of Whitwell, Dr. Micah (Mike) Krempasky of Ashville, North Carolina, Sarah Hooper of Los Angeles, California, Aubrey (Brie) Hooper of Mobile, Alabama, Emily Johnson, Jeffrey Johnson and Presley Hooper, all of Nashville; two great-grandchildren, Aggie and Lily Krempasky of Ashville.
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 21 in the funeral home chapel with Minister Larry Cole officiating. Graveside services will follow at Whitwell Memorial Cemetery with Minister Richard Sain officiating.
