Edith Harmon Leamon, 85, died Tuesday, August 21, 2012 in Chattanooga.
She was born December 14, 1926 in Dunlap to Joe Cleveland and Annie Rachel (Standifer) Harmon and married Ralph James Leamon on July 30, 1944 in Walker County, Georgia. She spent the remainder of her life as homemaker and lived on their farm for over 66 years. She was a wonderful cook and was known for her delicious coconut cake and strawberry cobbler. She was a lifelong member of Maple Grove Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband; sons, Billy Ray and Larry; her parents; two grandchildren; her brothers, A.B., Eugene and Junior; her sisters, Ota K., Irene and Johnnie Mae; three nephews, Larry Harmon, Howard Walker and Jerry Johnson; and four nieces, Ann Boyd, Aleta Sue White, Ogretta Yoakum and Anna Vanhoose.
She is survived by three sons, Joe “LeBron” Leamon and wife, Theresa of McCook, Nebraska, Troy Leamon and Tracy Leamon and wife, Aletha, all of Harrison; seven grandchildren, Sheila, Mandy, Melannie, Troy Jr., Christopher, Daniel and Hannah; seven great-grandchildren, Ariana, Rhiannon, Preston, Curtis, Kaydence, Brody and Waylen; two sisters-in-law, Judy Harris of Harrison and Barbara Roberson of Hixson; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 25 at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Old McDonald Cemetery in Ooltewah.
