R.J. Cagle

R.J. Cagle, 81, of Dunlap died Tuesday, July 3, 2012. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Dunlap, active with the Dunlap Senior Citizens Center and enjoyed attending the Fredonia Mountain Jamboree.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Cagle; sister, Inez Smith; four brothers, Avery, Sam, James Cagle and Herman Higgenbottom; and two great-grandsons.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Austin Cagle; two daughters, Susan (Joe) Rivera of Dearborn Heights, Michigan and Barbara (Avon) Hammonds of Lumberton, North Carolina; son, Russ (Debbie) Cagle of Dearborn Heights; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step-daughters, Teresa (Jerry) Carlton and Cynthia (Marvin) Price, both of Dunlap; two step-sons, Ray (Sandi) Austin Jr. of Tucson, Arizona and Carnel (Nancie) Austin of Dunlap; several nieces and nephews; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 5 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jeremy Byrd officiating. Burial was in Camp Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Sequatchie County Cancer Support Network, Camp Cemetery, 188 Hitchcock Road, Dunlap, TN 37327 or charity of choice.
