Kenneth Bowman

Kenneth W. Bowman Jr., 70, of Dunlap died Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center after a long illness.

He was born on November 2, 1941 in Mount Jackson, Virginia and was the son of the late Kenneth W. Bowman Sr. and Vivian Lamma Poole. He was a member of Morningstar Lutheran Church in Mount Jackson, was a retired coal miner and was owner of Cagle Mountain Stone in Dunlap.

He is survived by his companion, Karen Wheeler; two sons, Larry Bowman and wife, Debbie, of Lewisburg, West Virginia and Scotty Bowman of Ghent, West Virginia; daughters, Faith Grizzle and Chrystal Joyce and husband, Brian, both of Beckley, West Virginia; brother, Richard H. Bowman and wife, Nancy, of Richmond, Virginia; sisters, Virginia Rich and husband, Steve, of Eads, Tennessee, Doris Brackenrich of Franklin, West Virginia and Jeannie Poole of Eads; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; several nieces and  nephews; and step-son, Toby.

A memorial service was held Saturday, July 7 at Morningside Lutheran Church with Rev. Steve Whitten officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

McCraw Funeral Home of Lewisburg, West Virginia was in charge of arrangements.
