Sybil Larison
Sybil Louise Havey Larison, 101, of Dunlap died peacefully Thursday, April 12, 2012.
She was born and raised in Jonesboro, Arkansas. The Larison family moved to Oak Ridge, Tennessee in 1945. Mr. and Mrs. Larison moved to California in 1973. She was a devout Roman Catholic and worshipped at Holy Ghost Catholic Church during her residence in Knoxville. She has been a resident of Dunlap for almost four years and was a member of Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church in Dunlap.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Archie Lee Larison; parents, James Henry Havey and Agnes Rose Brand Havey; and great-grandson, Nicholas Pradia.
She is survived by her sons, James Paul (Mary Jean) Lorison and Stephen Robert (Patricia Ann) Larison; daughters, Agnes Louise Larison (Francis Robert) King and Mary Ann Larison Moyer. She was the proud matriarch of a large extended family that included eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, along with special friends, Kathy and Dean Friton and many nieces, nephews and their families.
A rosary and funeral mass was held Saturday, April 14 at Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Scholtz officiating.
Her remains will be returned to Ontario, California to be laid to rest with Mr. Larison.
