David Barrett

David Gordon Barrett, 73, of Dunlap died at his home Thursday, April 5, 2012. He was retired from Veterans Administration with over 20 years of service.

His parents, James Fredrick and Grace Etta Clark Barrett and a brother, Donald Barrett, preceded him in death. 

Survivors include his wife, Marion Ballard Barrett; sons, Timothy (Jamie) Barrett of Dunlap, Darren (Hollie) Barrett of West Virginia and Duane (Jodi) Barrett of Tucson, Arizona; daughters, Denise (Tim) Smith of Signal Mountain and Michal (James) Colburn of Pasadena, Texas; sisters, Lila (Loren) Sloppy of Bowling Green, Missouri, Lillian (Bob) Potter of Plymouth Massachusetts and Eugenia Summers of Columbia, Missouri; 25 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 10 with Bro. Brian Kearns and Ken Ballard officiating. Burial was in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
