Jack Benny Smith

Jack Benny Smith, 74, of Dunlap, passed away Friday, March 23.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Smith; sisters, Sue Murphy and Diane Smith. He was a member and Elder of New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church, was the owner of Jack’s Small Engine Repair and was a 1955 graduate of Sequatchie County High School. He was also a United States Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Pickett Smith; daughter, Marsha Smith; mother, Pauline Lamb Smith, all of Dunlap; brother, Larry Smith, of Clarksville, TN; sister, Joan (Glynn) Wilson, of Dunlap; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 26 in the Chapel of Ewton Funeral Home with James H. Patterson and Jimmy Byrd officiating. Burial followed at Chapel Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Sequatchie County Cancer Support Network.
