Emma Inez Massengale Almond, 67, of Dunlap passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012 in a Chattanooga hospital. She was a breast cancer survivor and a member of Hwy. 28 Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Estel and Eula Long Massengale; and first husband, Kenneth “Pete” Powers.
Survivors include her husband, William Almond of Dunlap; daughters, Kim (Doug) Smock of Carmi, Illinois and Lora (Greg) Dawson of Dunlap; brothers, Gary (Anna Lou) Massengale and Martin (Genie) Massengale, both of Dunlap; sisters, Amanda (Larry) Dishman of Dunlap and Marsha Massengale of McMinnville; grandchildren, Jacob and Jonathan Smock and Courtney and Daniel Dawson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 28 in the funeral home chapel with Larry Dishman, Dan Rains and Tommy Shutt officiating.
A private burial was held in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
