Beverly Rajca

Beverly Jones Rajca, 87, of Mount Airy, Maryland died Friday, October 28, 2011 at her home.

Born October 20, 1924 in Cartwright, she was the daughter of the late William Frederick Jones and Lorene Cartwright Jones. She was the wife of the late Harry Rajca, who died on April 21, 1993.

She moved to Maryland in 1944 and worked at Maryland Drydock as a ship fitter during World War II. She met her husband, who served in the U.S. Army, and they were married on June 6, 1948. Before raising her family, Beverly also worked at the National Biscuit Company and as a nursing assistant in a Baltimore hospital. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Howard Cartwright Jones and Raymond Emmett Jones.

Survivors include her daughters, Dolores and Deborah Rajca of Mount Airy; sister, Freddy Jones Layne of Whitwell and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 2 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Johnny Jones officiating. Burial was in Hoodenpyle Cemetery.
