Jack Thomas Herman

Jack Thomas Herman, 68, formerly of Prattville, Alabama, died unexpectedly at his home in Dunlap on Friday, May 27, 2011.

He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, followed by a professional career with Dunlap Industries. He was also a 32nd Degree Mason in good standing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Mildred Herman.

Survivors include his beloved companion, Marilyn Overstreet; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Ann and Robert Chambliss and Maxie L. and Jasper Griffith; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene and Ann Herman and Jimmy and Twana Herman; special friends, Dale and Diane Overstreet; several extended family members and many friends.

Memorial services were held Sunday, May 29 at Ewton Funeral Home in Dunlap.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, June 1 at Prattville Memory Gardens, under the direction of Prattville Memory Chapel. The United States Air Force Honor Guard provided honors.

Serving as pallbearers were Bobby Chambliss, Mark Chambliss, Pete Herman, Bill Herman, Cody Herman, Dave Myers and David Peterson. Honorary pallbearers were Melton Myers and Billy Sparks.

Ewton Funeral Home of Dunlap was in charge of arrangements.
