Alice Rollins

Alice Scharer Rollins, 82, of South Pittsburg died Saturday, April 2, 2011 in a Dunlap nursing home.

She was a member of Neighborhood Flower Club and First Baptist Church in South Pittsburg. She was a loving and devoted mother who spent her spare time cooking and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, O.E. “Doc” Rollins; parents, Charles and Ruby Payne Scharer; and brothers, Charles and Jere Scharer.

She is survived by four sons, O. Edmond (Teresa) Rollins Jr. of Pulaski, Charles William (Gloria) Rollins of Dunlap, Jody F. Rollins of South Pittsburg and Bruce (Terri) Rollins of Soddy Daisy; daughter, Karen R. (Randy) Moss of South Pittsburg; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; special daughter, Connie McClain (Jeff) Taylor of South Pittsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 5 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Fred Steelman officiating.

Burial was in Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball.

Rogers Funeral Home of South Pittsburg was in charge of arrangements.
