Charles William Reel

Charles William Reel (Charlie Brown), 75, of Dunlap, formerly of Soddy Daisy, passed away on January 8, 2011 at his residence as he so requested.

He was born March 7, 1935 in Sale Creek to Allie Mae and Lester Herbert Reel. He worked at Cumberland Case and sawmills and pulpwood yards. He also worked in Wayne, Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Maxine Payne Brown Reel; sisters, Beulah (Malcolm) Brown, Virginia (James) Gallahan and Vera Hickman Gauger; stepbrothers, Russell Eugene Brown and Samuel Brown; nieces, Rhonda Hickman and Donna Davis; and step nephews, Eddie and Mike Brock.

He is survived by his children, Debbie Cruver, Charles Thomas (Tommy) Reel, Kathy Weller and Becky Barnes, all of Dayton, Rose Marie (Penny) and Angela Denise (Angie); four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Georgia (Edward) Thompson and Bernice Reel of Fort Valley, Georgia; brother, Donny (Mickie) Reel of Cibolo, Texas; stepsisters, Nancy Ruth Logue of Warner Robbins, Georgia, Diane Morgan of Bakewell, Louise McCarter of Dayton and Darlene Thomas of Sale Creek; stepbrothers, Lebron Brown and Julius Brown of Soddy Daisy; nieces, Carolyn Eddings, Brenda Fitts, Janice Gallahan, Teresa Lanter, Debbie Hancock and Tina Reynolds; nephews, Willis, Herbert, Wayne and Billy Brown, James and Michael Gallahan, Jack Hickman Jr., David Gauger, Tommy Hickman, Ronnie and Joseph Thompson and Duane Reel; many step nieces and nephews, cousins and friends; special great niece, Rhonda Gauger and grandchildren, Adam Cruver and Carrie Daniels and her son, Bradley.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 11 in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Clayton Privett officiating. Burial was in Granny Walker Cemetery.

Williamson and Sons Funeral Home of Soddy Daisy was in charge of arrangements.
