Mary Ruth Heard

    Mary Ruth Heard, 80, of Dunlap died Thursday, December 23, 2010 in a Chattanooga hospital.

    She was a lifelong member of Bethel Church of Christ and worked as a secretary for Judge Thomas Greer for over 30 years.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Vesta Bowman Heard; brother, Orville Heard; sisters, Irma Dean Heard and Sallie Minnie Heard; and niece, Margaret Ann Heard.

    Survivors include her niece, Viola (James) Russell; nephew, James (Rochelle) Heard; extended family, Buck and Justine Ewton, Diane and Steve Hayes, Susan Hixson and Christy and Michael Boring.

    Funeral services were held Monday, December 27 in the funeral home chapel with minister T.A. Smith officiating.

    Burial was in Howard Cemetery.
