David McCarver

    David J. McCarver, 76, of Dunlap died Saturday, November 6, 2010 at his home.

    He was of the Methodist faith and helped with the Sequatchie County Cancer Support Network Hee Haw Show for many years. He was a member of VFW Post 4848 for over 35 years and served with the USO in 1968 in Vietnam. He served Sequatchie County for 10 years in the sanitation department.

    His parents, William and Edith McCarver; brothers, Eugene, Frank, George, Lee, Osbourn and Levi McCarver; and sisters, Irene Swafford and Vernell McCarver, preceded him in death.

    He is survived by his wife, Rosy N. McCarver; son, Timothy D. (Beth) McCarver; daughters, Sue (Edward) Walker and Sherry (Robbie) Bailey, all of Dunlap; seven grandchildren, Andrew Snyder, Brittany (Joseph) Carey, Caleb Bailey, Susan (Terry) Street, Rachel (Matthew) Lee, Brooke McCarver and Megan Hicks; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Erlene Green, Pauline Dennis and Alene Seals of Dunlap; half-sisters, Rachel McDowell of Sevierville and Abigale Wilson of Dalton, Georgia.

    Funeral services were held Monday, November 8 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Reese Fauscett officiating.

    Burial was in Cagle-Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
