Sally Bess Johnson Heard

    Sally  Bess  Johnson  Heard, 91, of Dunlap died at her home Monday, November 1, 2010 after a brief illness. She was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. Heard was retired from the U.S. Post Office in Centerville, Ohio. She was the widow of James W. Heard who preceded her in 2008. She was also preceded in death by parents, William B. and Elizabeth Easterly Johnson; brothers, Victor Johnson, Lester Johnson, Gaither Johnson, Wade Johnson and Floyd Johnson; and sister, Ida Lou Collins.

    She is survived by a sister, Geneva Hawk of Chattanooga, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

    Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 3 at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Tom Tucker and minister Johnie Statom officiating. Burial was in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Donnie and Billy Johnson, Roy Webb, Tom Brotherton, Claude Patterson and Mike Brown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church building fund or the Sequatchie County Cancer Support Network.
