Ralph Sims

    Ralph Smith Sims, 90, of Dunlap died Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at NHC in Dunlap.
    He was a lifelong resident of Sequatchie County and a retired carpenter and farmer. He was a member of Dunlap Church of God and a veteran of World War II and received a Purple Heart.
    His parents, Gus and Pearl Smith Sims; brothers, George, Louis, Sam, Bill and Donald Sims; sisters, Betty Hobbs, Katherine Lowery and Nellie Kerley, preceded him in death.
    He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Louise Land Sims; sons, Lloyd (Linda) Sims and Randy (Pam) Sims, all of Dunlap; two grand-children, Anita (Doyle) Allen and Joseph (Jackie) Sims; step-grandchild, Randi Holland; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services were held Friday, June 26 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Kenneth Doyle Allen and Rev. Sonny Wilkes officiating.
