Chester Newman

    Chester “Check” Newman, 79, of Dunlap died Sunday, June 21, 2009 after a lingering illness.
    He was a lifelong resident of Dunlap and was of the Church of God faith.
    His parents, Jack and Neppie Skyles Newman; daughters, Linda Kay New-man Horton and infant daughter, Jennifer Newman; brothers, Otis Miller, Lee Miller, Tom Newman and Frank Newman; and sister, Gertrude Thompson pre-ceded him in death.
    He is survived by his wife, Lorenza Limon Newman; son, Jackie (Susan) Newman; daughter, Lori and special son-in-law, Kevin Tate; brothers, Clyde Newman and Roy Newman, all of Dunlap; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 23 with Bro. Dan Raines and Bro. Billy Dean officiating.
    Burial was in Cordell Cemetery.
    Serving as pallbearers were Tommy and Jason Newman, Gary Miller, Randy Sims and David and Tim Dean.
