Orillion Hobbs

    Orillion Hobbs, 81, of Chattanooga passed away Sunday morning, May 31, 2009 at the Parkridge Medical Center after a short illness.
    Born in Dunlap, he moved to Chattanooga in 1947 and worked at Meyer Business Machines for 28 years before their closing. He was an employee of the Hamilton County Highway Parts Department for the past 32 years and a member of Ridgedale Baptist Church since 1959, serving as chairman of the ushers for many years and a member of the Tellers Class for 50 years.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Than and Pearl Hobbs; brother, Roberson Hobbs; and in-laws, John and Sissie B. Hitchcock.
    He is survived by his wife, Violet Hitchcock Hobbs; sister, Wilma J. (Jay) Fields; niece, Kathy (Steve) Hargis; sisters-in-law, Peggy Hobbs and J. Dorothy Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 2 in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Bill Owens, Dr. David Myers and Rev. Bill McGinnis officiating.
    Burial was in Camp Cemetery.
