Homecoming for Highway 28 Church of God

    The Highway 28 Church of God will be having Homecoming 2010 on Sunday, September 12. "Free on the Inside" will be ministering the morning service at 10:30 a.m. Lunch will be served after the service. Pastor Dan Raines and congregation invite everyone to come and be blessed.        TS36

 

Grant family reunion planned for September 19

    The Grant family reunion will be at the Lewis Chapel Community Center on Sunday, September 19. Lunch will begin at 1:00 p.m. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish and old family pictures.    TS36

 

Ladies Bible Conference at Ewtonville Baptist

    Ewtonville Baptist Church will hold their 20th Annual Ladies Bible Conference on Friday, September 17 at 7:00 p.m., and Saturday, September 18 at 10:30 a.m. The theme is "20 Years of Women Celebrating God." Participants will celebrate the past on Friday night by welcoming back Lois Jane Huddleston Wallace, and  look to the future on Saturday with Beth Moore's "Living Proof" live simulcast event. Seating will be limited, so please pre-register. The registration fee is $10 which includes snacks on Friday night, a continental breakfast and lunch on Saturday, and all conference materials. Scholarships are available. There will be many door prizes and the grand prize giveaway is a handmade quilt made by the Ewtonville Quilting Bees. All giveaways will be held during lunch on Saturday and you must be present to win. Cagle Church of Christ announces services

    Cagle Church of Christ has the following services. Sunday School begins at 10:00 a.m. with morning worship at 11:00 a.m. and the second service following at noon. Tuesday night Bible Study is at 6:00 p.m. Lunch is served on the third Sunday of the month following the morning services. Affordable spay and neuter services offered

    Wally's Friends, a nonprofit, low cost spay/neuter clinic located in Red Bank, operates a free shuttle service to pickup pets at the Dunlap Wal-Mart and Pikeville AutoZone and bring them to their clinic to be spayed/neutered. Other services offered at the time of surgery include rabies and DHPP vaccinations. Prices are affordable, however, financial assistance is available to those in need.     The stated meeting of the Dunlap Lodge 693 F&AM will be held Tuesday, September 14 at 7:00 p.m. at the Masonic Hall on Cherry Street in Dunlap. Worshipful Master Sonny Smith invites all eligible Masons to attend.                                                                 TS36

    The Friends of the Sequatchie County Library will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, September 14 at 4:30 p.m. at the Sequatchie County Public Library in Dunlap. Dunlap Cruise-In is set for September 11

    The Dunlap Cruise-In will be held Saturday, September 11 at 4:00 p.m. at Mountain Valley Bank. Everyone is invited to bring their hot rods and classics and enjoy the afternoon.  TS36

 

Cancer Support Network to meet September 16

    The Sequatchie County Cancer Support Network will hold their regular monthly meeting on Thursday, September 16 at 5:30 p.m. in the Citizens Tri-County Bank Training Center in Dunlap. The regular Monday night meeting will resume in October. The Cancer Network provides financial assistance for Sequatchie County residents' needs such as medical bills, medicine, gas and utilities. The Network will be selling sausage biscuits and Krispy Kreme doughnuts, along with other items, on Saturday, September 11 at the Veteran's Memorial Motorcycle Ride at the former Cooley's Gas Station on Hwy. 127 in Dunlap. Layne/Green family reunion is September 11

    The Layne/Green reunion, descendants of the late Foster and Mary Layne and the late Vonetta Layne Green and Grover Lee “Preacher” Green, will be held Saturday, September 11 at the Daus Community Center. Those attending will eat at noon and visit the rest of the day. Bring a covered dish and enjoy the day. Meeting of Brockell Community is September 13

    The monthly meeting of the Brockdell Community is September 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Dill Community Center. Everyone is urged to attend since they will be voting on board members and discussing things that consist of the Dill School and Brcokdell Fire Department. Wrestling match raises for Coops Creek

    On September 11 at the Sequatchie County Fairgrounds, Sequatchie Championship Wrestling is presenting a fundraiser and auction to benefit the newly proposed Coops Creek Project for the city of Dunlap. A night of entertainment and fun for the whole family is planned. Benefit to help Huffman with medical bills

    A benefit for Jack Huffman is Saturday, September 11 from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Fredonia Community Center. Bluegrass music and more are planned. Refreshments are being sold. All proceeds raised go to help Huffman with medical expenses.
